CameronMonaghan for "Out of Order magazine"

Cameron Monaghan first captured our attention as in the Showtime series Shameless, playing a gay teenager living in dysfunctional Chicago family. Inhabited by any other actor, a character like this could have easily veered into stereotype, but Monaghan infuses his performance with such complexity and nuance that it is no surprise he has earned the admiration of television critics. Monaghan also starred in Sundance film Jamie Marks Is Dead, a moody drama about a bullied teenager, once again demonstrating Monaghan’s willingness to tackle challenging roles. This year we will also see him in the film adaptation of The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.
