Cameron's interview w/ "Hero Magazine"

(scan)
Daniel Challis: "Hey Cameron, how's your day off going?"
CM: "It's going fine, still working through it though: I'm just not on set today. It's hot here, so incredibly hot!"

DC: "What have you been up to so far?"
CM: "Today I've just been working on the scripts for up coming projects and then also looking at others that I might do afterwards, I have to do school work too so I've been working on that today."

DC: "You recently wrapped up the shoot for the new Amityville movie, how was it?"
CM: "It was great, a month's worth of shooting with Bella Thorne. It was a weird and very interesting experience, mainly because I've never done a straight up horror movie before."

DC: "Do you like horror movies?"
CM: "I do, I like all films and I don't think there's any genre I don't enjoy going to see. But then it was also fun to be a monster, a creature, something villainous and evil. Everyday I was wearing all of these prosthetics and every morning I'd spend hours in the make-up chair. It was wild and an odd challenge which I'd never come up against before, trying to act through make up and all of that.

DC: "How did it compare to some of your previous roles, you recently played Asher in The Giver, for example. How was it playing the completely flip reverse of him?"
CM: "I mean it was completely different. I had attachments all over my face which made it hard to read my expressions. It was something limiting. I had to practice making faces in the mirror, which I hope no one saw, it was a very odd job sometimes."

DC: "So what's your favorite horror movie?"
CM: "Probably The Shining

CameronMonaghan for "Out of Order magazine"

Cameron Monaghan first captured our attention as in the Showtime series Shameless, playing a gay teenager living in dysfunctional Chicago family. Inhabited by any other actor, a character like this could have easily veered into stereotype, but Monaghan infuses his performance with such complexity and nuance that it is no surprise he has earned the admiration of television critics. Monaghan also starred in Sundance film Jamie Marks Is Dead, a moody drama about a bullied teenager, once again demonstrating Monaghan’s willingness to tackle challenging roles. This year we will also see him in the film adaptation of The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.
